Brief Event Description:
Latin Jazz Nights will feature Gilberto Camacho Garcia Guisando Caliente, Viva Cal! and Gumbi Ortiz Frankie Piñeiro has long been a fixture of the Tampa Bay Jazz community. For many years he was host of the Latin Jazz program on WMNF 88.5 and for the past few years he has hosted the Afro-Cuban Jazz Edition on WSLR 96.5 from 10am-12pm on alternate Tuesdays. Pineiro has been battling heart disease and recently had to have one of his legs amputated. The jazz community has come together with WSLR to put on a show to raise funds to help Frankie pay his medical bills. The evening will feature the area’s best Latin Jazz bands.
